During traditional hikes through the deeply snow-covered landscape of Zauchensee, the custom of driving away evil spirits with fragrant herbs and resins, and asking for luck and blessings for the coming year, is upheld. The walkers, who also experience the effects of smoking on health and well-being, are accompanied by singing and brass music.
