For others, ams has a soulful vibe, a charismatic voice and clever lyrics in Upper Austrian dialect. ams is the singer, pianist and songwriter Anna-Maria Schnabl. She combines Upper Austrian dialect with Viennese humour in an unmistakable, ambiguous and successful way.
Her songs are about love and contradictory expectations, about children you love even if they come from other parents, about the pros and cons of God, faith and church tax. What the songs are all about: honest, authentic, Austrian. And if you listen carefully, you will most likely recognise yourself in the lyrics.
