"I will be 92!" announces the hairdresser Vreni. A fortune teller told her so. But just a few days later, Vreni finds herself where she never wanted to be: in the afterlife. It’s just as bureaucratic there as it is on Earth. God and Saint Peter are on vacation. So, two overwhelmed heavenly officials send Vreni back to Earth for the time being. Until God and Peter return from their holiday, Vreni is to search for the meaning of life on Earth. On her journey, Vreni encounters a highly eccentric angelic woman, a power-hungry Greek healer, a quirky fortune teller, a psychologist in an esoteric frenzy, a narrow-minded conventional doctor, and many other wonderfully quirky characters from whom the lovingly naive hairdresser hopes to find final answers. Vreni can’t believe it. Are all healers really money-hungry? Are priests especially obsessed with sex? Does God really exist, and is there life after death? Or are they all just cooking with (holy) water? That Vreni also encounters Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gerda Rogers, Udo Jürgens, and Marcel Reich-Ranicki is, like so much else in this program, initially in the realm of the supernatural... "Esoderrisch" is a bit like riding a roller coaster – colorful, exciting, and laugh-out-loud funny.
