With just one ticket, true Dixieland fans can get up close and personal in one night with the best Dixieland musicians in Europe. On one hand, there is the fantastic "Hot Jazz Band" from Hungary, who uphold traditional Dixieland jazz like no other band. They are famous for their stylistic qualities. As soon as their concert in the Frank Stronach Hall concludes, the audience rushes en masse into the foyer, where they can not only refresh themselves at the bar but also be captivated by the "Nanna Carling Swing Band" (SWE). These energetic young musicians from Sweden demonstrate that Dixieland is far from being an "old men's domain." The excitement is palpable. Finally, another highlight of a different kind follows in the Frank Stronach Hall: Ken Aoki (JPN), the Speedy Gonzales of banjo playing, is making his debut at the Dixie & Swing Festival, and he’s doing it with a grand orchestra, the Prohibition Orchestra, under the direction of Nobuo Watanabe. It wouldn’t be surprising if some musicians in the adjacent "Dejavu" turn the Dixieland night into a Dixieland day.
