Opera in the Quarry - Tosca

With Giacomo Puccini's melodrama Tosca, one of the world's most popular operas returns to the St. Margarethen quarry in 2026, to the most beautiful open-air stage in Europe. Rome around 1800. The singer Floria Tosca and the painter Mario Cavaradossi fall hopelessly in love with each other, but the unscrupulous police chief Scarpia has set his sights on their happiness and will do everything to manipulate Tosca to win her for himself. When Cavaradossi offers refuge to the wanted political prisoner Angelotti, Scarpia abuses his power and presents Tosca with a choice: either she swears him her eternal love, or he will ensure Cavaradossi's demise. Will Tosca and her lover be able to overcome the shadows of fate?
