"Beat the Silence"

After their premiere in 2023 at the Vienna Concert Hall and stops at Porgy & Bess, Sargfabrik, WUK, and the Vienna Cultural Summer, Beat the Silence brings their program to the Theater Phönix.

The evening begins with Austrian singer-songwriter Veronika Morscher, who tells touching stories from her album "Blooming" with her warm voice, offering healing and encouragement. Her songs are accompanied by sign language poetry and dance from Anja Tanzende Hände, Lucia Rosenfeld, and Sonja Hanl. Following her, the two-time beatbox world champion crew M.O.M impresses with a mix of dance music and a good dose of humor. They create a variety of soundscapes, whether it's techno, drum 'n' bass, or Latin – all exclusively with their mouths.

After their premiere at Beat the Silence 2024 at WUK, the IMANI Drumshow returns with their energetic performance. They combine drums, percussion, and light effects, making the stage shake – delivering beats that resonate throughout the entire body.

This event is designed for hearing, hard-of-hearing, and deaf individuals alike and is acoustically barrier-free. In advance, the interactive Hands Up exhibition shows how life functions without hearing.
