Boji – In the State of Fire and Miracles

Based on research in Istanbul, von Strolchen creates a modern fable about a dog who is thrown into life and always stands in between – between people's legs, between chairs, between tram cars. For this reason, people also call him "Boji," which means "bogie" in English.

One day, the well-known street dog finds himself caught between two parties, each wanting to claim him for themselves. Boji is to become a political mascot, but then everything turns out quite differently. In an installation setting, Boji's story transforms into a docufiction – through objects, found items, fragments, sound, music, and dog feces. Together with changing performers in various languages, von Strolchen develops a hybrid form of visual art, concert, live performance, video, and sound design, where neglected animals and current phenomena such as propaganda and social manipulation collide.
