The Portuguese singer CARLA PIRES is regarded in her home country as well as internationally as one of the great Fado voices of our time. However, she began nearly 25 years ago with music from various genres and has also worked as an actress. Since 2002, she has dedicated herself exclusively to her passion for Fado and can now look back on an extraordinarily successful career that has taken her to the stages of the most renowned concert halls in Europe, including the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Södra Teatern in Stockholm, and the Graz Opera House. This has been complemented by tours through Japan and Latin America, as well as performances in Morocco and Algeria. With her musical companions Rui Poco on the Portuguese guitar, the sensational guitarist André Santos, and Marino de Freitas on double bass, Carla Pires also showcases the connections between Fado, Tango, and Samba in her concerts.
