Philipp Hochmair is Everyman. In a passionate feat of strength, he embodies all roles and transforms Hugo von Hofmannsthal's play into a polyphonic monologue. His Everyman is a rock star. Driven by guitar riffs and experimental sounds from the band The Electric Hand of God, Hochmair turns the 100-year-old mystery play into an apocalyptic spoken concert. Everyman is recognizable as a contemporary who burns up in his insatiable greed for money and intoxication. The theme is timeless and eternally valid: "What remains of my life when it comes time to die?" Since 2013, Hochmair has been developing the performance as a work in progress—always on the edge between concert, theater, and excess.
