Laura (Paula Beer) studies piano in Berlin and just needs to get away from the concrete hell. A trip to the outskirts of the capital with her boyfriend is therefore in order. However, the trip does not end well, as both become involved in a serious car accident. He dies, but Laura survives against all odds without so much as a hair out of place. In the aftermath of the terrible accident, Laura is taken in by Betty (Barbara Auer), who witnessed the catastrophic crash. There, with Betty, her husband Richard (Matthias Brandt), and their son Max (Enno Trebs), she quickly finds support and emotional refuge after the life-changing experience. But while Laura believes she can slowly heal, she notices that Betty's family is also dealing with a deep-seated pain that also needs to be processed...
