Christian Kölbl sings Ludwig Hirsch - Please don't forget me

As a young person, I had the privilege of witnessing how the bud of Ludwig Hirsch blossomed into one of the most beautiful flowers of Austria, blooming for a long time and allowing many people to enjoy its fragrance. But as it is with flowers – eventually, they wither, some far too soon! "Accepting your death, dear Ludwig, is still very difficult for us today – we miss you!"

Now, as my own leaves slowly begin to take on autumn colors, I have made it my mission to remember this wonderful artist and to honor his wish, "Please don't forget me." In doing so, I try, as much as possible, to orient myself to Ludwig's voice and his unique interpretation; he didn’t just sing his songs, no, he acted them out brilliantly. (No wonder, as he was primarily an outstanding theater and film actor.) In terms of guitar playing, I rely on his congenial partner and friend, Johnny M. Bertl.

I firmly reject forced pseudo-cover versions here. I only want to "remember" and not reinvent Ludwig's songs. I am gratefully accompanied by my long-time musical friend NADJA MILFAIT on the cello and her incredibly sensitive singing.
