Imagine this: A quest for knowledge that aims for redemption in paradise after traversing hell and purgatory. This is described in Dante's "Divine Comedy." How could this be expressed in sound and tone? A journey, a questioning, and an arrival? At the center of this night concert is Jacobus Buus' "Ricercar," embedded in baroque passacaglias, caprices, battle music, and one of the great toccatas by Georg Muffat, along with a vocal ensemble trained in Gregorian chants that fills the nocturnal collegiate church with contemplative sounds. Martin Haselböck, the specialist in church music, will make the grand organ of the collegiate church resonate during the Baroque Days.
