Divinerisch
Since their founding in 2021, the Divinerinnen have dedicated themselves to the touching melodies of Viennese music – while also setting the goal of rethinking them. The seven-member ensemble surprises with unusual combinations, uncovers previously hidden archival treasures, and puts them in dialogue with modern compositions. This creates a distinctive sound that brings the tradition of Schrammel music into the 21st century – independent, powerful, and refreshingly new.
The musicians effortlessly span a wide arc: from the brilliance of the philharmonic New Year's concert to the intimate Heurigen tavern, from the dance floor to the grand concert stage, from educational work to scientific research. This coexistence makes their music so special – sensual, diverse, full of energy and enjoyment.
Theresa Aranya Aigner (Violin, Vocals), Julia Brunner (Violin), Erna Ströbitzer (Contrabass Guitar, Vocals), Andrea Götsch (Clarinets), Anna Aigner (Cello), Stefanie Kropfreiter (Viola), and Pia Madlener (Viennese Button Accordion) together form an ensemble that reflects the musically vibrant Vienna of our time and makes female voices impressively audible.
Their debut album "Tanz’ von innen" landed on the longlist of the German Record Critics' Award in 2022. Since then, the Divinerinnen have been present internationally at festivals in South Korea, Italy, and Spain, while also being at home in Vienna – in the concert hall, at festivals, or in sociable Heurigen situations. Their second album "divinerisch" (Gramola, 2024) was awarded the German Record Critics' Prize in 2025, impressively confirming their artistic strength.
An evening with the Divinerinnen is more than a concert: it is a dive into the multifaceted soundscape of Vienna – tradition-conscious yet surprisingly new, charming, cheeky, and carried by irresistible joy of playing.
