Seppi Neubauer - Brain with Egg

Seppi Neubauer represents one of the most promising new arrivals in the Austrian cabaret scene. In his second solo program, the versatile East Styrian consistently showcases the qualities that have distinguished him in previous projects: cleverness, quick wit, modern comic style, a sophisticated intertwining of all themes addressed, and a consistently high energy in the audience. It is entirely justified that the program "Hirn mit Ei" receives the designation of "most modern cabaret."

This program revolves around life and growing up in the countryside, first encounters with the big city, lost love, and passionate desire in connection with high-tech medical technology. Once again, Seppi Neubauer presents not only his heavily distorted ukulele on stage but also quirky medical products that (as the audience quickly realizes) are completely repurposed. Instead of using the devices for diagnosis, treatment, or alleviation of diseases, they are in most cases "misused" as musical instruments – in this case, the medical technician refers to it as a classic misuse. However, it is not only these devices that are misinterpreted; the cabaret artist's own brain is also put to the test, revealing that there are indeed some issues lurking within.

Live, Seppi Neubauer not only delves into his own thought world but even reads the cerebral cortexes of the audience – always charming and friendly, albeit not always suitable for younger viewers! When rock 'n' roll meets Styrian dialect, when high-tech is employed on stage, and when the realization emerges that while one should listen to their head, sometimes the gut feeling is right, a quasi-Dadaist work of a new rising superstar of Austrian cabaret is created. Having received multiple awards for various cabaret performances and now also known from television and radio, Seppi Neubauer this time encourages us to bring mental health and family life back into the center of our thoughts.
