Bella Via – a musical road trip full of magic

When guitar virtuoso Diknu Schneeberger and accordion master Christian Bakanic take the stage together, pure virtuosity meets joy of play, and sparks fly. For years, these two exceptional musicians have explored the boundaries of their instruments together, and with their quartet, they have already thrilled audiences at the Wolkenturm Grafenegg, the Brucknerhaus Linz, and the Vienna Concert Hall. Now, they invite you on a musical journey with their new program "Bella Via," which goes straight to the heart.

"Bella Via" – beautiful way – is much more than just a title: it is a promise. The journey leads from the Alps through Italy and into the world, passing through tango, gypsy jazz, Balkan, and world music, always interwoven with surprising twists. Sometimes an alpine dance transforms into an Afro-Latin number, and at other times, a tango is played on the Styrian harmonica – a mix that has never been heard before.

It is not only the brilliant solos that captivate the audience, but also the touching moments where expression and emotion take the lead. Schneeberger himself says: "When virtuosity has been exhausted, one must shift to expression." This is where the magic of this quartet lies: in the balance of energy and delicacy, of the joy of dance and contemplative pause.

Together with Martin Heinzle (double bass) and Julian Wohlmuth (rhythm guitar), they create a sound that enchants both heart and ear. An evening with this quartet is a road trip full of Mediterranean vibes, longing, and zest for life – and by the time the last piece, their own version of "Besame mucho," is played, it becomes clear: this journey is one you don't want to end too quickly.
