Schneeberger & Bakanic Quartet - Alpin Swing

Diknu Schneeberger is one of the most prominent guitarists in the tradition of Gypsy Swing worldwide. With his debut album "Rubina," released in 2007, the then 17-year-old Viennese quickly became a shooting star in the scene, receiving invitations to perform on large stages and festivals, where he made a significant impact internationally.

By a fortunate coincidence, his musical path crossed with that of Austrian accordion virtuoso Christian Bakanic. Bakanic initially made a name for himself in international jazz projects and classical chamber music ensembles, and now, for the first time in 20 years, he is returning to the Styrian harmonica and thus to his folk music roots.

The foundation for the creative heights of the two virtuosos is provided by the equally well-rehearsed and sensitive rhythm section, featuring Julian Wohlmuth on rhythm guitar and Martin Heinzle on double bass.

With their refreshing "Alpin Swing," the quartet enchants in seconds. In the compositions of the Viennese musicians, the interplay of catchy melody and virtuosity takes center stage. A successful mix of Gypsy Swing, Balkan jazz, and new folk music allows the audience to experience a turbulent yet gentle evening, and after just a few bars, it becomes clear: This quartet knows how to enchant both the heart and the ear like hardly any other.
