Flower Power Fest

In June 2026, the annual theme BLOOM of the Universalmuseum Joanneum will take center stage in the Graz experience region, focusing on the "Power of the Flower." A diverse network of exhibitions and events will be created at all BLOOM locations in Graz and Styria, highlighting the flower as a cultural, social, and symbolic element. The flower represents fragility, hope, and beauty – as well as processes of change, memory, and community. The highlight will be the large Flower Power Festival on June 14 at the Austrian Sculpture Park near Graz, a place where nature and sculpture engage in dialogue. The sculpture park invites visitors to discover flowers as a metaphor: in artworks, in conversations, and in educational formats for all age groups. At the same time, the other BLOOM locations – including Eggenberg Palace, Stainz Castle, and Trautenfels Castle – will open spaces for workshops, museums, and exhibitions centered around the theme of flowers. The event aims to attract a diverse audience: families, art enthusiasts, nature lovers, and communities. Short presentations will address local traditions and botanical diversity, providing interesting information about the flowers and plants of Styria – and connecting them with art and society. Speaking of the region: the Styrian landscape, with its variety of flowers and plants, provides an ideal backdrop. In this atmosphere, the flower becomes a unifying element.
