Guided Snowshoe Hike: Seinerkreuz

In snowy and good weather, this winter tour is certainly one of the most beautiful snowshoe hikes in the Graz experience region. The 360-degree view from Seinerkreuz makes every effort during the ascent worthwhile.

Starting from Hirschegg (Pongratzwirt), we steadily ascend through the forest, passing the chapel of St. Bartholomew and across wide alpine pastures to Seinerkreuz, which offers a magnificent view. The return journey takes us past the closed Saureishütte back to the starting point. Meeting point: 08:15 AM at Köflach train station. Duration of the hike until approximately 3:00 PM, return trip by taxi bus from Hirschegg to Köflach. Individual return from Köflach. Trail length: 12 km | Ascent: 670 m | Walking time: approx. 5 hours. Arrival by public transport: take the S-Bahn from Graz to Köflach, transfer by taxi bus to Hirschegg and back (included), individual return from Köflach train station. Difficulty level: Medium snowshoe hike depending on snow conditions, 700 meters of elevation gain and 5 hours of pure walking time. Some steeper ascents and descents. Equipment: Good waterproof mountain shoes for winter are required, snowshoes, ski or trekking poles, warm hiking/sports clothing (layering system), backpack, gloves & hat, wind and snow protection, drink, snack, no stops during the hike.

Service: Guided hike with certified mountain hiking guides, transfers by taxi bus. Registration: until Wednesday, December 2, 2026, at www.regiongraz.at/wandertouren. The guided hike is organized by the Graz Region Tourism Association in collaboration with the hiking guides. Please note that last-minute changes may occur. Participation is at your own risk. For safety and organizational reasons, bringing dogs is not allowed!
