Guided hike: Over Novystein and Hohenberg

When it gets a bit uncomfortable in the autumn at Schöckl, the colorful mixed forests and beautiful paths around St. Radegund offer wonderful hiking alternatives.

This hiking route leads from St. Radegund along a section of the Quellenweg, past the ruins of Ehrenstein, up to Novystein, and further to Hohenberg. From here, the trail descends through Maria Schutz to Höchwirt in Weinitzen. Return trip by city bus from Dürrgraben. Meeting point: 09:15 AM at the bus stop St. Radegund Ort, ending in Weinitzen. Trail length: 13.5 km | Ascent: 420 m | Walking time: approx. 4:30 hours. Duration of the hike until around 3:00 PM, followed by a planned stop for refreshments, return trip by city bus from Dürrgrabenweg. Individual arrival by public transport: with RegioBus 250 from Graz – St. Radegund Ort, return trip with city bus line 41 from Dürrgrabenweg (no return to starting point – public transport hike). Difficulty level: Hike without special requirements, stamina for about 4.5 hours and 400 meters of ascent required. Equipment: Good hiking/mountain shoes suitable for winter, warm hiking/sports clothing, backpack, gloves & hat depending on the weather, wind and rain protection, hiking poles recommended, drink, snack, no stops for refreshments during the hike. Costs: €15.00 per person, payable on-site to the guide.
