Michael Köhlmeier talks with Elke Heidenreich about aging.
Last year, Elke Heidenreich achieved a surprising success with her essay "Aging" - apparently, no one had previously articulated so clearly that aging is not a deficit, but a part of life, and even a particularly beautiful one.

Elke Heidenreich lives in Cologne. She studied German studies and theater science and worked for many years in radio and television. Her work has received multiple awards, including the Ernst Johann Literature Prize in 2021. Her latest publications with Hanser include Your Happy Eyes. Short Stories of Long Journeys (2022) and Dr. Moormann & Me (2023).
