WALTZ CONCERT IN THE PARK with the SOLOISTS OF THE VIENNA PHILHARMONIC Monday, August 31, 2026, 7:30 PM It has become a beautiful tradition for the soloists of the Vienna Philharmonic to present their annual waltz concert at the Theater im Park, featuring the sounds of the Strauss dynasty, Franz Lehár, Robert Stolz, and others. With overtures, the most popular waltzes, such as "Wiener Blut," "Gschichten aus dem Wienerwald," to name just a few, lively galops, and exciting polkas, the grand finale of the concert will once again feature the "Danube Waltz" by Johann Strauss Jr. And those who wish to dance along are warmly invited! As a special guest, we welcome the enchanting soprano Cornelia Horak: she will bring additional cheer with famous numbers such as the "Schwipslied" by Johann Strauss and enchant the audience with the hit "Wien, du Stadt meiner Träume," among others. Furthermore, the most well-known songs by Robert Stolz, such as "Im Prater blühn wieder die Bäume" and "Du sollst der Kaiser meiner Seele sein," will also be included. Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz, a knowledgeable connoisseur of the repertoire, will charmingly guide us through the program and will surely surprise you, dear audience, with some background stories about the individual works that you may not yet know. Just like the message of the popular and globally broadcast "Great" New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic from the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, all participants understand the concert as a message of peace for the audience in a time of great unrest and uncertainty. Performers: Soloists of the Vienna Philharmonic Maxim Brilinsky, Violin Katharina Engelbrecht, Violin Elmar Landerer, Viola Matthias Bartolomey, Cello Herbert Mayr, Double Bass Walter Auer, Flute Gregor Hinterreiter, Clarinet Sophie Dervaux, Bassoon Josef Reif, Horn As a guest: Cornelia Horak, Soprano
