The request for a Blues & Wine evening was enough of an incentive for three musicians from Upper Austria to form a new band. MOTSCHKA represents a return to the roots of their musical collaboration for Johnny, Simon, and Gerhard. While JMS and YOLLY still sang in English and High German, MOTSCHKA now combines a passion for blues with their local dialect. What comes out of this, they call AUSTROBLUES, and it feels like they have finally arrived in a musical harbor. The songs seem to write themselves; in no time, so many ideas emerged that plans for a debut album were forged. With SUPERSTAR and RENE BENJO, the first singles were released at the end of 2024, followed by SOULFASSL in January 2025. The positive response, including airplay on various Austrian radio stations, speaks volumes.
