In 1984, in Finnish Lapland, single mother Nina accidentally damages the panoramic window of the "Lapland News." The chief of the harmony-loving small-town newspaper is persuaded by her to make up for the damage with self-written articles – provided they are cheerful topics! However, Nina believes she is onto a big story. Did really no one but her hear the deafening bang? When Finnish defense forces arrive in the village, the evidence mounts that a Soviet missile has crashed into the ice. The lethargic Laplanders want nothing to do with atomic fear. Nina transforms into a tenacious investigative journalist, always just a missile's length away from the truth. Based on a true story.

Dedicated nurse Floria loves the challenges of her profession. In the surgery department of a Swiss hospital, she is the one who selflessly provides human warmth. Every move she makes is precise; even in stressful situations, she always has an open ear for her patients and is immediately available in emergencies. And this is in a chronically understaffed ward. However, the harsh reality in the fully occupied department shows no mercy. Floria makes a fateful mistake, and a nerve-wracking race against time begins. The film is both a respectful homage to all caregivers and a gripping plea for more humanity and social engagement.
