1984 in Finnish Lapland. Single mother Nina accidentally damages the panoramic window of the "Lapland News." The editor of the harmony-loving small-town newspaper is persuaded by her to compensate for the damage with self-written articles – provided they are cheerful topics! However, Nina believes she is onto a big story. Did really no one but her hear the deafening bang? As Finnish defense forces arrive in the village, the evidence mounts that a Soviet missile has crashed in the ice. The lethargic Laplanders want nothing to do with atomic fear. Nina transforms into a tenacious investigative journalist, always just a missile's length away from the truth. Based on a true story.
