For decades, The Badrock Blues Band from Upper Austria has been a staple of the local music scene, rooted in honest blues, fueled by rock 'n' roll, and carried by an unwavering joy of playing. Now, after countless concerts, nights filled with music, and encounters with fans, the first studio album is finally being released. A debut that encapsulates all the years of experience, passion, and heart that the musicians have brought to the stage for decades.
Musically, the album presents itself as a journey through the soul of the blues. It is a colorful mix of driving rock 'n' roll numbers, handcrafted blues with all its highs and lows, and heartfelt ballads that open the space for softer tones. Especially fans of the Hammond organ – and indeed of keyboard instruments in general – will get their money's worth: warm soundscapes, virtuosic runs, and fine details that, in interplay with guitars, bass, and drums, create a sound world that feels both familiar and fresh. The solos – whether on guitar, organ, or harp – also receive the space they deserve.
The album received a special emotional touch through its first single release: it was released on August 1, 2025, the first anniversary of the charismatic singer Gerald "Mercy" Schuldenzucker's passing. This song is dedicated to him, and his unmistakable voice makes the recording a musical legacy. A moving start that shows how much the band cherishes its roots and companions in their hearts. A memory that goes far beyond the music.
The album will be released digitally and on CD on December 12, 2025. As a special highlight for collectors, a lovingly designed double vinyl will follow at Christmas, available in a limited edition. A total of four singles will accompany the path to the album release. They are the harbingers of a record that does not do things by halves and celebrates the blues in all its facets.
Anyone who wants to secure the album can pre-order directly from the band – thus acquiring not just a piece of music, but also a piece of passion, history, and heart. Because that’s what it’s all about: music with soul, honest craftsmanship, and what remains when the amplifiers have long fallen silent.
