Schellenberger Fair

The Schellenberg Fair is held in honor of the town’s patron saint, St. Wendelin. At 9:30 a.m., the festive opening of the Chilbi begins at the Klausenhof Open-Air Museum: horses, tractors, and lovingly maintained vintage cars are solemnly blessed by the priest—as are their owners, riders, and drivers, who are the focus of this special moment. The blessing lends the morning a contemplative yet festive atmosphere and combines tradition with a sense of community. Following this, a solemn procession sets off toward the Schellenberger Chapel. There, at 10:00 a.m., the communal church service begins in the festival tent, setting a festive tone for the rest of the day. Afterward, the Großherrischwand Fire Department enthusiastically provides food and refreshments for the guests, ensuring no one goes hungry or thirsty. Around the Chilbi, visitors can also expect a colorful and diverse market scene. Numerous lovingly designed stalls invite you to stroll and explore. Items on offer include clothing, leather goods, woodwork, toys, and regional specialties such as honey and sweets. In this way, the Chilbi combines tradition, community, and enjoyment into a lively festival for the whole family.
