Literary discovery tour with pleasure

Hiking in the Footsteps of Hermann Hesse Immerse yourself in the literary world of Hermann Hesse and discover the writer's favorite places on this exclusive hike. Following in the footsteps of the famous poet, participants will learn fascinating details about Hesse's formative years in Gaienhofen (1904-1912) and be inspired by the idyllic nature that motivated Hesse to create his masterpieces. Hermann Hesse was deeply influenced by the Höri Peninsula – yet the unique landscape of the Höri also left its mark on his work. During his years in Gaienhofen, the writer sought to lead a life in harmony with nature and rural idyll. The expansive lake landscape and the quiet, secluded ambiance of the region had a magical allure for the neo-romanticist. On this hike, participants will experience firsthand how Hesse's connection to nature comes alive in his work and gain a poetic insight into the untouched beauty of a landscape that has lost none of its impressive power to this day. Along the way, poems and texts from Hesse's work will come to life, offering new perspectives on nature and the poet's life. The hike begins at 10:15 AM at the Hesse Museum in Gaienhofen, and after the hike, participants can look forward to a small aperitif – a thoroughly enjoyable experience!
