3-Hour Trip by Ship and Ried Express Our journey by ship takes us downstream along the Rhine, passing the Breisach Cathedral and the Rhine port until we reach the Sans-Souci dock in the Alsatian Ried, where the Rhine water is diverted into the canal of the Marckolsheim lock. Here, you will transfer to the "Ried Express," built in 1900. The steam train, equipped with a bar car, winds its way back south through the primeval vegetation of the Alsatian Ried. After arriving at the Volgelsheim Museum Station, the train proceeds to its depot for a visit to the vehicle collection. Afterwards, the ship will take you back to Breisach. Registration required!
