Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – a literary piano evening

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) is probably the most famous, most performed, and likely also the most popular composer of classical music. Martin Engel (piano) and Burkhard Engel (recitation) present Mozart's piano music in many colors, forms, and facets. Smaller musical forms, such as the d-minor Fantasy, a kind of eulogy with an unknown addressee, can be found alongside large variation works inspired by colleagues like Duport and Gluck. The large form is represented by the extensive B-flat major Sonata KV 333, the largest of the solo sonatas in this key. Literary sources from the time of Mozart, read by Burkhard Engel, frame and comment on the performed works, complemented by the introduction of some pieces by pianist Martin Engel.
