Lecture on the Fasnet Game

Human & Culture There is hardly an event that is more shaped by the entire city than the Burladingen Fasnetsspiel. Hubert Pfister will give a talk about the Burladingen Fasnetsspiel, its history spanning over a hundred years, and its revival. Hubert Pfister spent two years in his free time researching the background and securing remnants. Numerous photos and text books came into his possession. Rarely seen photos will be on display. Additionally, professional films and exhibition pieces will be shown. Even in the penultimate and last century, the so-called Fasnetsspiele were a special feature. Theater was performed from the floats. The Narrenzunft Nautle Burladingen was one of the first, if not the first in the country, to revive the traditional Fasnetsspiel according to age-old customs in 2006, in order to restore a small piece of its old face to the Burladingen street Fasnet.
