Eberbach Hiking - Neckarsteig and "Eberbach Path of River History"

The city of Eberbach offers guided hikes from April to October with hiking guide Dr. Susanna Büchner. Various route lengths are available, ranging from 3.5 to 6 hours (10 to 20 km). The themed trail "Path of River History" deals with the river history of Eberbach. After a short section in the old town, we head to the plateau "Breitenstein" (with beautiful sections of the Neckarsteig). This circular route is extended by the Fisher's Fountain and two additional loops around Breitenstein, the "Quarry at the Snail Path" and the site of the "Red Crocodile." The hike ends back at Eberbach train station. – Exciting geology can be seen, touched, and understood here: for example, the Neckar bend, the rare phenomenon of river reversal, several oxbow hills, former cave bears, the "Red Crocodile," and much more. Requirements: moderately difficult (elevation difference of 366 meters, good basic fitness), approximately 13 km – 6 hours.
