The visitor center of KARL STORZ is practically infused with a spirit of invention and innovation. All of this and much more can be explored up close in the city tour series "Experience Medical Technology." This spirit of invention and innovation has been present in the visitor center of KARL STORZ. The courage shown by founder Karl Storz since 1945, which led to the creation of the first ENT instruments and headlamps, paved the way for today’s minimally invasive surgery and the global success of the family-owned company of the same name. Today, in its third generation, the company equips entire operating rooms worldwide, and leading clinics rely on Tuttlingen instruments. All of this and much more can be explored up close in the city tour series "Experience Medical Technology." Sign up quickly – as spots are limited. Visitors gain insights into medical technology. With a spirit of invention and craftsmanship, Dr. med. h. c. Karl Storz designed the first ENT instruments and headlamps as early as 1945. His vision was to make diagnostic and therapeutic tools accessible to medicine that had not existed before. Over the years, he developed high-quality endoscopes that enabled minimally invasive surgery and continue to have a significant impact today. Quality and innovation have since been the focus of the family business, captivating visitors during the regular tours of the "Experience Medical Technology" series. However, the available spots are in high demand – so it pays to be quick.
Modern imaging and state-of-the-art operating rooms. The high resolution and precision of imaging today is demonstrated by long-time employee Boris Martin from KARL STORZ through a small experiment – often involving the guests as well. Visitors also learn how intubation can be performed in no time, for example, in the case of an accident, using a C-MAC from KARL STORZ. And if the fascination for medical technology hasn't yet taken hold, it will certainly do so during the minimally invasive surgery segment, as visitors are allowed to get hands-on experience. It quickly becomes clear that operating via a screen is not as easy as it seems and requires a lot of practice. In the integrated operating rooms, known as OR1, interested participants learn about the connected technologies and instruments used to treat patients during surgery. Here, it becomes evident once again why Tuttlingen is the global center of medical technology. If interested, you can register now by calling 07461 / 99340 or visiting the Tuttlingen city website.
