Museum Festival and Folk Music Day

Numerous craft demonstrations on the grounds, a colorful program of hands-on activities for the whole family, and exciting glimpses behind the scenes of museum work! There will be plenty of food and drinks available once again! Museum festival and folk music—a perfect match! Experience our traditional museum festival with numerous craft demonstrations and exciting insights into museum work. Bagpipes, dulcimer, harmonica, violin, and tuba from around 30 different music groups will fill every nook and cranny and every room. The festivities kick off on Saturday evening with the “Danzbodaglüa” in the Zehntscheuer. Swing your legs to three- and four-beat rhythms and learn different group and solo dances in a folk dance crash course. More than 70 artisans will showcase their skills on the museum grounds. The large farmers’ market offers rural products from the region, along with sweet and hearty Swabian specialties. With music and dance, we’ll celebrate a grand museum festival with our visitors. A varied stage program and puppet theater performances round out the day. Refreshments will also be plentiful! The festival takes place rain or shine—the program is subject to change.
