On the day before the Feast of the Assumption, visitors, along with local farmers' wives, will bind "Weihbüschele" from soothing herbs, which can be blessed upon request. Additionally, you will learn a lot of interesting facts about herbs, as well as their long-standing significance and use in rural everyday life. We will accompany the day with a colorful program centered around herbs, garden and hedge fruits, as well as the agricultural year shaped by religiosity and folk beliefs. Do you know the custom of blessing herbs or binding "Weihbüschele"? This ancient tradition, which is part of the Feast of the Assumption, has been documented since the 13th century. On August 14, this custom will once again be the focus at the Bauernhaus-Museum in Wolfegg. Under the expert guidance of the museum staff, you can create your own "Weihbüschele." You will receive tips and advice on the types and quantities of herbs needed. This year, there will also be a ceremonial blessing of the herbs. There will be plenty to see on this day. Young visitors will discover the fascinating world of herbs and then create their own herbarium. They can also get hands-on experience making mustard and flavoring vinegar. Or they can listen to the storyteller share her tales. There will also be plenty of delicious food available on this Sunday: the farmers' wives will offer regional specialties. For those who prefer a cozy atmosphere, the museum's beer garden will provide a chance to indulge in hearty cuisine. In case of bad weather, there may be changes to the program for individual activities.
