Discover the new Hans Thoma Artist Trail with its eight art stations and immerse yourself in the history of the painter Hans Thoma. The Hans Thoma Artist Trail is a circular route approximately 5 km long. Along the thematic path, you will find eight art stations, a panoramic image of Bernau from around 1915, as well as two stations in Bernau-Oberlehen. The latter was the residence of Hans Thoma from 1845 to 1866. Unfortunately, the watchmaker's house burned down in 1930 and was not rebuilt. The art stations showcase, among other things, reproductions of paintings that Hans Thoma created over 100 years ago at these locations. The images also serve as historical documents showing how the Black Forest and the Bernau landscape have changed over the past 100 years. The idea for the Hans Thoma Artist Trail originated from former museum director Robert Rosenfelder, who also leads the tour. Meeting point: Parking lot at Resenhof. Hiking guide: Robert Rosenfelder, Haus Rosenfelder FeWo Abendsonne. Registration: At least one day before the tour at the Tourist Information Bernau: Tel. +49 7675 160030 | tourist-information@bernau-schwarzwald.de. Duration: approx. 2 hours. Distance: approx. 5 km. Difficulty level: easy. Required equipment: Sturdy footwear, sufficient drinks, and weather-appropriate clothing. The hikes only take place in suitable weather conditions. Participation is at your own risk. No liability is accepted by the hiking guide or the Tourist Information Bernau in the Black Forest.
