A guided tour with Monika Bräuninger. Vaihingen an der Enz was granted city status in the 13th century. Due to its location on the important long-distance road from Speyer to Cannstatt, Ulm, and Augsburg, the city quickly flourished. Significant setbacks were the city fires of the 17th century. The medieval city layout has been preserved. In addition to a large number of half-timbered buildings from the period after the fires, it is also worth exploring parts of the old city walls and two prominent fortification towers.
