Interesting Facts and Anecdotes from Bad Schussenried

On this thoroughly exciting discovery tour through the monastery town with its countless historical buildings and sites, participants enjoy a deep insight into the rich history of the little town of Bad Schussenried. It is not only the monastery complex with its magnificent buildings and artworks from all stylistic epochs that invites enjoyment and wonder. The beer mug museum, featuring the finest examples from the last centuries, along with many other attractions, the former courthouse, and the marketplace with its history are also on the agenda for this tour. Even the small river Schussen, as a tributary of Lake Constance, tells its own stories, starting from the first settlement by reindeer hunters thousands of years ago. Speaking of stories: there are plenty in these 90 minutes. Participants will learn not only why the first lion innkeeper was allowed to brew beer outside the monastery walls, which had been strictly forbidden until then, but also the secret surrounding the so-called "evil woman" in the Old Pharmacy will be revealed. The little gate with its two bells at the entrance to the monastery grounds is surrounded by equally interesting anecdotes. So, it remains exciting, educational, and entertaining until the very last stop. Cost: €5.00
