Peter Turrini presents a tragicomic love story about a couple who suffers and, thanks to their illness, discovers the miracle of love anew every day. For what remains is the longing for tenderness and togetherness. The couple has shared many years together. Now, they are also sharing their final years at the senior residence "Autumn Joy," but a third person has joined them: Alzheimer’s. In the fog of dementia, the couple learns to know each other anew and forget, to love and to hate. They remember their young love in the wild sixties or the time when they were young parents. Long-buried wounds, seemingly overcome affairs, and the burden of aging resurface from the depths of memory. What remains when the gaps in memory grow larger? When we become strangers to ourselves and our loved ones? Can the loss of memory also mean a release from what burdens and separates us?
