Norms? No thanks! Resume with gaps? Why not! Perfect self-presentation? Not necessary. WILLMAN much prefers to say "yes" to themselves, even at the risk of being uncool. With their new EP "Ich bin Ich" (release date: October 11, 2024), the duo from Freiburg makes a clear statement against societal pressure for self-optimization. Their music, which moves between pop and rap, thematically revolves around identity, mental health, and the right to simply be oneself. WILLMAN consists of Jo (vocals, synth, songwriting & co-producing) and Felix (drums, producing & co-writing), both raised in the Black Forest – and musically deeply rooted there. Their debut album "100qm²" not only brought them significant attention in 2021 but also three awards at the German Rock & Pop Prize and a nomination for the Pop Culture Prize. With projects like the FLINTA EP "Mein Thron" and powerful live shows, they have established themselves in the German indie scene.
