Angels in Pfullendorf

Heavenly Diversity: Under the guiding theme "Angels," the Municipal Gallery "Alter Löwen" presents works by dedicated artists and creatives of all ages. On Sunday, November 30, the Municipal Gallery Alter Löwen will open its doors and welcome art enthusiasts to the festive opening of the exhibition "Angels." Starting at 2 PM, visitors can expect a diverse showcase featuring works from over 50 artists from Pfullendorf and the surrounding region. Many of them will be present in person to provide insights into their work. The angel is a figure that is hard to imagine being absent from Pfullendorf—not just during the Christmas season. High above the town, the golden trumpet angel on the tower of the town church watches over the city daily, and on December 6, he traditionally descends to announce his message to the guests of the Advent magic. The "Pfullendorf Angel" is also known as a symbol of commitment: it is regularly awarded to particularly deserving volunteer groups. Against this backdrop, the theme of the exhibition "Angels" was almost a given for Mira Krane, the director of the Municipal Gallery Alter Löwen: "The overwhelming response, which extends far beyond the city limits, shows how diverse and inspiring the theme of angels is for artists and creatives," Krane stated. The exhibition will feature sculptures, reliefs, and paintings in a variety of techniques—from oil and acrylic painting to chalk works. Among the exhibitors are well-known names such as Lisa Kölbl-Thiele from Lindau, Ute Manuela Dreher from Überlingen, and Elke Stietzel from Langenenslingen, as well as local artists from Pfullendorf, including Annemarie Rudolph and Thea Palt. The youngest creatives are still in kindergarten, while the oldest artist is over 80 years old. A special highlight is the participation of the children's and youth art school, which presents two large-format exhibits created by children aged between two and six years. The opening offers an opportunity for personal exchange with the artists over a glass of sparkling wine and musical accompaniment. The gallery warmly invites everyone to discover the diversity of "Angels" in all their artistic expressions. The exhibition will be open until January 25, every Sunday from 2 PM to 5 PM.
