The orchestra has long developed into an internationally active symphony orchestra with members from approximately fifteen nations. Anton Webern, Fuga (Ricercare) a 6 voices from J.S. Bach's "Musical Offering," arranged for orchestra Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Piano Concerto Dmitri Shostakovich, Symphony No. 5 in D minor, Op. 47 Soloist: Matthias Kirschnereit, piano Conductor: Anna Rakitina When the citizens of Reutlingen established a professional orchestra in 1945 amidst the ruins of World War II, the Württemberg Philharmonic Reutlingen (WPR) was born. The orchestra has long evolved into an internationally active symphony orchestra with members from approximately fifteen nations, fulfilling the duties of a regional orchestra. In Trossingen, it has gained a fan base over the years – including standing ovations, as seen during the guest performance on February 8, 2025 (Soloist: Saleem Ashkar), which is rather exceptional for classical concerts. Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5 is a late Romantic highlight, complemented by Mozart's piano concerto with Matthias Kirschnereit – a feast for the ears!
