Lecture: Living Your Truth with the Courage to Change If we humans valued and loved ourselves, our world would look different: no conflicts, no wars, far fewer illnesses, and more peaceful communities, both in private life and at work. Because those who love themselves and are at peace with their past are also a gift to everyone else. Those who do not (yet) love themselves burden—unintentionally—their relationships with others, especially with those who are close to them. Like our parents and grandparents, we have not learned to be our own best friend. We often treat ourselves harshly, overwhelm ourselves, and judge many things about ourselves and our lives. We can stop this when we choose to. In this lecture, Robert Betz demonstrates how we can find a new attitude and relationship with ourselves, leading to high self-esteem and positive self-awareness.
