Salterio Solo Soloistic Original Works for Salterio from Italy, Spain, and Germany of the 18th Century by Antonio Vivaldi, Florido Ubaldi, Manuel Canales, and others. The dulcimer has its predecessors in classical music, specifically with the salterio in the Baroque period. Its sound captivates early music ensembles from around the world, yet its history remains a blank spot on the map of musicological research to this day. Almost no one truly knows about it. However, the numerous preserved original instruments and compositions clearly show that the salterio must have been an important part of the Baroque musical landscape of Europe. And its current queen is Franziska Fleischanderl, who will delight us with her performance and moderation. When the salterio sounds alone, the audience falls completely silent. Every timbre, dynamic change, and melodic development emerges undisturbed from the silence of the space, creating an atmosphere that is often described as heavenly. From the energetic rush of chords to the subtle sound tapestry, from the virtuosic showcase piece to the intimately resonating closing sequence. But it is not only this unique atmosphere that conjures the salterio with its light-footed sound into the perfectly suited Rococo salon at the Schlössle.
