Concerts in the Martins Church: The Twiolins – Eight Seasons Evolution

The Martinskirche opens its doors and invites you to experience the new concert season with four extraordinary classical concerts. Let yourself be enchanted by the unique atmosphere of the church and the sounds of masterful compositions. Two violins. Two souls. One sound. The "Twiolins," Marie-Luise Dingler and Marta Danilkovich, demonstrate how two violins can unleash the sound power of an entire orchestra in the last concert of the 2025/26 season at the Martinskirche. The duo is still young, having been founded in 2025 after the duos in which the artists previously played dissolved. They adopted the brilliant name "The Twiolins" from the predecessor formation established in 2009, featuring Marie-Luise Dingler and her brother Christoph, who had garnered one international success after another under this banner. The sibling duo initiated the "Progressive Classical Music Award" in 2009, for which over 1,000 compositions for violin duo were submitted over four years. Marta Danilkovich, who hails from Minsk, has also earned international acclaim and numerous awards. She plays an Italian violin by Michele Deconet from 1759. Her previous duo, "Divites," has also dissolved, and now the two violinists embark on a new collaboration. Their shared passion for duo playing leads them to new paths, where they not only explore the repertoire for two violins but also expand and adapt it to the present. In Müllheim, under the title "Eight Seasons Evolution," music by Antonio Vivaldi and Astor Piazzolla will be brought into a common focus. The four movements of Vivaldi's "Seasons" will be played alternately with tangos by Piazzolla. This program earned the original Twiolins the Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards in 2021. The project promises not only excitement and new listening experiences through the arrangements for two violins but also through a curious look at seemingly familiar pieces. "The Twiolins" open new, uncharted sound worlds, where both violin voices oscillate and interact between solo brilliance and sensitive accompaniment.
