The quartet serves us well-known pieces from the Swing Era of the 1930s in their own special way. "Hear Me Talkin' To Ya……" Memories & Melodies of the Kings of Swing - After exploring the stories and music of the New Orleans era in their last program, the Phon B Quartet and speaker Michael Speer turn their attention this time to the Swing Era and its protagonists. Once again, there are quirky and interesting stories to be heard. The timeless music of the 1930s is reinterpreted and brought into the present by the four established musicians from Baden-Württemberg. Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Artie Shaw, or Woody Herman and all their wonderful musicians tell their stories: with words and sounds. Pioneers - also in overcoming racial segregation. Finally, Black and White together on stage, united by music. - However, afterwards separated again in different life worlds, in different hotels. The hard life on tour is recounted, along with the anecdotes that inevitably arise when a colorful bunch of individualistic musicians is on the road 365 days a year. All accompanied by Duke's life motto: It don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got that Swing!
