After the move through the city center, the festival begins. Among the well-known carnival locations in the Swabian-Alemannic region, Wolfach holds a special place with its over 200-year tradition of Fasnet games, its partly unique parades, and its carnival figures. On the afternoon of Schellenmendig (Carnival Monday), everyone who has a costume or participates in the festival gathers in front of the Wolfach castle gate for the parade. In addition to the numerous Hansel groups, the core of the parade is formed mainly by the performers of the subsequent carnival festival.
