If there were such a thing as the decathlon of small arts, Helge Thun would probably be an Olympic champion, if not even a district champion. As a magician, he has won more awards than he can count; as a poet, he became the German team champion in poetry slam, and in theater sports, he learned the craft of improvisation early on. With "Reim gewinnt" (Rhyme Wins), "der Comedy Stube" (the Comedy Lounge), and "Tauschrausch" (Swap Frenzy), he created three successful show formats. For 20 years, he was the head of one of the most original comedy duos with "Helge und das Udo." TV formats, radio columns, books, and various other stage programs like "Der Schöne und das Biest" (The Beauty and the Beast) with Heiner Kondschak or "Funny Magic" with Topas are not even included in this list. And all of this just to zigzag his way to the zenith! New rhymes, new tricks, and new comedy. Even after 30 years, Helge still draws from a wealth of material and continues where he left off with his last stage program "Held der Komik" (Hero of Comedy): as a world-renowned local hero, an international leader in the regional charts, and a long-time relegation player with once promising promotion chances.
