A one-woman show blending theater and stand-up. With live music and plenty of Balkan soul. In her solo performance, Vidina Popov, an ensemble member at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, weaves together interviews, documentaries, and encounters into a fast-paced and entertaining exploration of the concept of "home." She questions her loss, the associated clichés, and her experiences upon arriving in a new space. With biting humor, she highlights how deceptive assumptions about others and oneself can be, and exposes common mechanisms. The facets she evokes range from a young Romni aspiring to become a superstar in Vienna, to an intellectual who discovers pride in his homeland only in Austria, to a storyteller who jumps back and forth between worlds.
