Ava Smitmans: Mixed Techniques and Drawings from the Theater and Beyond

Ava Smitmans grew up in Tübingen and has long pursued her art there. She studied art, illustration, and design in Ottersberg and Hamburg. For several years, she moved her studio to the Swabian Jura in Melchingen, right next to the theater. In her art, she likes to focus on the unspectacular phenomena of everyday life and captures them with brush and pencil. During the 2024/25 season, she explored the theater house and particularly stumbled upon some very special still lifes backstage. These mixed techniques and drawings illustrate the season booklet for the 2025/2026 season. In her exhibition "Neben-Schauplätze" (Side Stages), she presents works from the theater and elsewhere. Since 2025, Ava Smitmans has been living in Dargun by the Mecklenburg Lake District. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Sunday, October 19, at 11 a.m. in the Theater Lindenhof foyer. Admission is free.
