Reading Pleasure - Tübingen Children's and Young Adult Book Week

Awakening the joy of reading – that is the goal of the Tübingen City Library. As every year in October, the Children's and Youth Book Week invites children, teenagers, families, and school classes to discover literature with around 20 events. The opening at LTT will feature author Markus Orths presenting a new adventure of the "Crazy Family" on Sunday, October 19, at 4 PM – a humorous start to a week full of readings, theater performances, films, and interactive activities. Admission to the opening is free, and tickets can be obtained at the theater box office (Tel. 07071 9313149). Highlights of the week include readings by Sybille Hein, Tanya Lieske, and Manfred Theisen, a WHAT IS WHAT? show on AI and robotics, as well as a creative "Silent Reading Party" for teenagers. There is also a special offer for the youngest: kindergarten groups are warmly invited to Kamishibai storytelling sessions based on the picture book "Two for Me, One for You" at the city library and its branches. The Young LTT brings literature to the stage, a different children's or youth film is shown daily in Tübingen cinemas, and the youth library at the main branch of the city library invites you to an upcycling workshop. In the foyer of the LTT, a large book exhibition invites browsing – featuring current children's and youth books in German, English, and French.
